What areas do you cover?

Here at Precision Locks we're based within Lakenheath, Suffolk. We provide all of our locksmith services out of Lakenheath to Brandon, Mildenhall, Red Lodge, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Thetford, Cambridge and the surrounding areas including everywhere in between.

Is your service 24/7?

Yes, we provide a 24/7 locksmith service for all emergency lockouts and urgent repairs. For non emergency locksmith related jobs, we will schedule work to be done at a convenient time for yourself and my work schedule.

How fast can you get here?

In emergency situations, we can typically be with you between 20-40 minutes depending on if we're currently on a job, our whereabouts and your location.

My door is jammed shut, can you help?

Yes, many people believe locksmiths wait by their phone waiting for people to lock themselves out. However many of our daily jobs include opening jammed doors, fixing mechanisms, opening windows and fixing window mechanisms as well as installing new locks, upgrading locks and replacing locks.

I'm locked out, can you come and drill my lock?

Drilling a lock is always a last resort! A genuine, reputable locksmith should be able to open a lock non-destructively using a number of different methods. If you call a locksmith and they turn up with a drill as their first method of entry, you should send them on their way or risk being charged a small fortune from a rogue locksmith.

My key is really stiff to turn, can you help?

Many customers tell me their door has been tough to lock for months prior to calling. If your key is hard to turn or your handle is hard to lift up. Call us to rectify the problem before it causes problems internally or the key snaps inside the lock, incurring extra costs to put right.

How much is it going to cost?

Determining a cost can sometimes be quite tricky over the phone without being able to diagnose the cause of the problem and what needs replacing. However, our prices are priced at a competitive rate and we'll be able to provide an estimate from the information you provide, giving a from this much and to this much depending on what the cause of the problem is or what needs changing.

Can you fix this type of door lock?

Yes, we have the tools, equipment and stock to carry out repairs and replacements to UPVC, composite and timber doors. If you're unsure of the type of door or lock you have. We'll be able to ask questions to determine which type of door you have and what the problem could potentially be.

Do I need a new door?

Many customers ask me when I go to look at a door if they need a new door. This primarily is not the case. Cylinders, mechanisms, handles and locks can be replaced and upgraded for a fraction of the cost of a new door.
